What I’d Tell You If We Were Chatting Over Coffee

Lucy Tunic Top and Bloomers Set

Maybe you just landed on my shop for the first time. Maybe you saw a bonnet or a knit top and thought... oh wow, this is beautiful.

And then maybe, right after that, your mind whispered:

Is this too expensive?

Would my kid even wear something like this?

Will it fall apart in the wash? Is it too delicate for our everyday mess?

Will it even fit next month?

If you’ve ever had any of those questions, you’re not alone. I’ve heard every one of them, and honestly, I felt a few myself before I started making these heirloom knits.

So let’s talk about it. Just you and me. No pushing, no convincing. Just real thoughts from someone who’s been there, too.

Let’s start with the big one: price. Yes, these pieces cost more than fast fashion. They’re not impulse buys. Because they’re made slowly, stitch by stitch, with cotton and bamboo yarns that feel like butter on the skin.

Most are handmade to order. And they’re meant to last not just the season, but long after. These are the sweaters that hold memories. That get passed down. That make you smile when you fold them.

So yes, it’s more upfront. But it’s not just a price tag. It’s time. It’s care.

It’s something your child can actually grow with because I make pieces that stretch and move and last.

"Will my kid actually wear this?" The short answer? Most likely, yes. And happily. I’ve had so many moms tell me they were surprised. “She actually reaches for it herself.”

Kids are so tuned into comfort, especially sensory-wise. The yarns I use are super soft and breathable. No scratch, no stiffness. A lot of parents say it becomes the piece their little one always wants to wear (even when it’s technically drying on the rack :-)

"It looks so delicate though…" Totally get that. It might look dainty in the photos, but it’s not fragile.

These knits are made to live in. Play in. Nap in. They are all machine washable (gentle cycle, cold water, laid flat to dry). You don’t need to baby them.

Honestly, the more they’re worn, the more loved they look. They’re knits, not costumes. And they’re made for real life.

"But what if she grows out of it in a month?" This is something I think about constantly when I’m designing. Our sweaters, rompers and dresses are super forgiving in fit. They stretch, layer, and grow with your child.

A piece that fits at 18 months often still works even at 3. They may go from dress to tunic, from slouchy fit to snug but they stay wearable for way longer than the tag says.

"Is this actually sustainable, or just a vibe?" This is a fair question. “Sustainable” gets thrown around a lot.

For me, it means small-batch production. No overstock. Mostly made-to-order. Natural fibers only. Cotton and bamboo, no synthetics. No factory waste.

And a pace that respects both the maker and the earth. So yes, it’s not just a vibe. It’s the heartbeat of my artisan shop.

"It’s beautiful. But… am I the kind of mom who buys this?" Here’s the truth: if something here made you pause, even for a second, and feel a little tug in your heart, then yes. You are.

My small shop isn’t about perfection. It’s about slowing down. Choosing things that last. Finding a little beauty in the chaos. And giving your child something that feels as special as they are.

Thanks for letting me talk through these things with you. If you’ve ever wondered, doubted, or hesitated, you’re not alone. And you’re welcome here, always.

If you feel like this might be the season to start with something special, I put together a secret bundle for insiders that makes it easier (and more affordable) to choose a few pieces at once. You can take a peek here.

I know it’s not what we’re used to. I mean, waiting a little longer for something to be made. But that’s exactly what makes these heirloom knits special. In my artisan shop, most pieces are made to order, one at a time, using natural fibers and a whole lot of care. Here’s why I don’t rush it and why that extra time is part of the beauty.
