What's the secret to getting more from a child's wardrobe?
July 07, 2026
I think it isn't buying more clothes. It's choosing pieces that work a little harder, right?
The kind that can be mixed and matched into outfit after outfit. The kind that grows with her instead of being outgrown after just a few wears.
The kind that's soft enough for everyday adventures and easy enough to toss into the washing machine at the end of the day.
As moms and grandmoms, we all appreciate those pieces. They simplify busy mornings, stretch the clothing budget a bit further, and somehow become the ones we reach for again and again.
That's exactly what inspired the Lucy Tunic Top and Bloomers Set.
One set. So many outfits.
The tunic and bloomers were designed to be worn together, but they're just as lovely apart.
One morning, she wears the full set to the farmers market. The next day, the tunic is paired with leggings for a playdate. A few days later, the bloomers become the perfect match for a favorite cardigan already hanging in her closet.
Without even thinking about it, one outfit becomes several.
That's the beauty of mix and match pieces. They give you more possibilities without filling drawers with more clothes.
The Lucy tunic also grows right along with her. Adjustable drawstrings across the chest let you customize the fit, while the bloomers feature a drawstring waist for extra comfort. These simple details help the set stay in her wardrobe longer instead of being packed away after one season.
Each piece is hand knitted from soft cotton and bamboo, making it lightweight, breathable, and comfortable in every season. On warm days, it's lovely on its own. When cooler weather arrives, simply add tights and layer the tunic over a long-sleeve T-shirt. The same look keeps working without missing a beat.
And because kids are meant to explore, beautiful clothes should be effortless to care for, too.
Every JuneBee Baby knit is machine washable, so you're not saving it only for special occasions. The wooden buttons at the back make getting dressed easier, especially with children who are eager to start their next adventure.
That's the kind of clothing I set out to make.
When I design a piece, I'm not thinking about just one photo. I'm thinking about all the small moments that happen afterward — morning walks, playground adventures, visits to Grandma's house, birthday parties, and the bedtime story at the end of a busy day.
Those are the moments that become childhood memories.
My hope is that years from now, someone opens a keepsake box, smiles at the sight of a well-loved little tunic, and remembers the child who once wore it.
Because the best heirlooms aren't the ones that stayed perfect in a closet.
They're the ones that were worn, loved, and eventually passed along to another little one.
