Have you ever noticed that some of the best baby products don't start in a boardroom?
They begin with a tired mom trying to figure something out.
I love stories like that. Maybe it's because my own artisan shop began in a similar way. When I was pregnant, I was simply looking for year-round cotton and bamboo hand-knits that children could wear comfortably through the seasons. Clothes that would last for years instead of months. I couldn't find what I had in mind, so I started sketching my own ideas.
Maybe that's why I always stop when I hear about another mother who looked at her everyday frustration and thought, there has to be a better way.
Founder Lisa Myers was returning to work after having her son and wanted to continue breastfeeding. Like so many moms, she quickly realized that keeping pumped milk safely chilled while commuting, traveling, or spending a long day away from home wasn't nearly as easy as it should have been.
She could have accepted it as one more challenge that comes with motherhood. Instead, she asked herself a simple question: What if there was a better way?
That question eventually led to Ceres Chill.
Why Mom-Founded Brands Hit Different
One small frustration. One idea that refuses to go away. And before you know it, someone has made life a little easier for families they've never even met.
Maybe that's why I always find myself cheering for businesses started by moms. Behind them is usually a story that began around a kitchen table, during a late-night feeding, or on the drive to work after maternity leave. Not with a business plan, but with a real need and a determination to figure it out.
Worth a Look
If you're expecting a baby, putting together your registry, or looking for a thoughtful gift for a new mom, I think Ceres Chill is worth a look. It grew out of real life, and somehow those are often the products we end up loving the most.
Lisa has kindly shared an exclusive discount for our community here.
I hope it makes one part of motherhood just a little bit easier.

The website has the collections. The newsletter has the longer stories. But Instagram? That's where the everyday moments live - studio reels, customer photos, and the slow fashion life behind JuneBee Baby. Come say hello.
How many clothes does a toddler really need? Probably fewer than you think. A small wardrobe of comfortable, versatile pieces made from natural fibers brings far more joy than drawers full of outfits that never leave the hanger.
Ever wondered how long it takes to make something handmade? June shares the real story behind every JuneBee Baby knit from first spark of inspiration to finished heirloom.
June made sure our son’s romper made it in time for our family pictures and checked in multiple times to make sure we were all set. We have gotten so many compliments when he’s worn it out and I can’t wait to see him in it in our family pictures!
I am so happy it arrived on time and your son looked adorable in it for your family pictures. Thank you for choosing my artisan shop.
