Knits for Warmer Days? Absolutely.
April 21, 2025
Lately, as I’ve been folding bonnets and finishing up orders, I’ve been thinking about how we often place clothes into seasons—this idea that some things belong to cold months and others only make sense when the sun is shining.
And I get it. There’s a rhythm to the year, and we dress accordingly.
But the truth is, the knitwear I design doesn’t quite fit into that old pattern.
Not because it’s different on purpose. Just… because it’s made a different way.
What It Means to Work with Cotton and Bamboo
The yarns I use—natural cotton and bamboo—feel nothing like the thick knits most people picture when they think of sweaters. These are soft, light, and breathable.
They don’t trap heat. They don’t weigh little bodies down.
They’re the kind of pieces I keep by the door in spring and summer, just in case the breeze picks up. They get tucked into picnic baskets, worn over sundresses, tossed in the stroller. They’re lived in.
And they hold up through it all—because even the gentlest pieces can be strong when they’re made with care.
The Quiet Beauty of Everyday Pieces
I think what I love most is how these knits become part of the everyday.
Not special-occasion outfits. Not tucked-away heirlooms.
But pieces that feel just right in real life:
Afternoons in the garden. Nap time. Late dinners outside.
The kind of clothes that get softer with time. That carry stories.
I work with a small artisan family to bring each piece to life. It’s a slow, human process. And maybe that’s why the final pieces feel the way they do—rooted, simple, easy to love.
Just a Gentle Thought
If you’ve ever thought of knits as only for cold weather, I totally understand. That’s what most of us were taught.
But if you’re holding a little one in your arms this spring, or reaching for something soft to wear on a cooler summer night, I hope you’ll keep these cotton and bamboo pieces in mind.
They belong to sunlit days just as much as crisp ones.
And once you slip one on, you’ll understand—no need for words.
Hey, before you go—
Can I send a little something your way? I share mindful notes from my small shop now and then—behind-the-scenes glimpses, first peeks at new heirloom knits, simple joys from everyday life, and little invites to special events and seasonal promotions.

Not all knits are the same. Some are acrylic, some are machine-made, and some don’t last beyond a season. My artisan knits are different: hand knitted stitch by stitch in cotton and bamboo, soft on skin, machine washable, and designed to grow with kids (and to be kept as heirlooms). Here’s why I refuse to make them cheap...
